The title about says it all. It was so bad I headed for the ER. The ER was WAY too packed so I opted for an Urgent Care instead. They couldn't do much there. They gave me some oxygen for a while, but it didn't help. I actually feel even worse now. They also wrote me a script for Tylenol 3 with Codeine but that isn't helping so far either. If the pains don't subside and the pain medication doesn't help I'm supposed to go to an ER. I hope this is all over with tomorrow!
The doctor I had planned to receive prenatal care from won't take me as her patient at this point in my pregnancy for some silly reason. So I'm left trying to find a new doctor and being this far along makes it really difficult because the doctors don't like that you haven't had any prenatal care thus far or they're afraid you're switching doctors and not being honest about something.
I only found one doctor's office so far that has allowed me to make an appointment based on all my information but the soonest they could schedule me for was Oct. 9th and to top it off it's right when my daughter will be getting home from school. So I will either have to take all the kids with me and keep her home from school that day, or find a sitter. Meanwhile, one other doctor's office has my information and is supposed to call me back to let me know if they will see me. If they can get me a sooner appointment I will cancel with the other office, if not I'll tell them "Never mind". I might try to find some more doctor's tomorrow too, who knows. If I'm not in bed with this headache or at an ER.
I think I've gained somewhere near 30 lbs. since I became pregnant which is a HUGE problem because I was overweight to begin with. So this is insane bad, especially since I've still got the most weight-gaining part of the pregnancy to get through yet. Even more strange is that people have commented that I look like I've lost weight since I got pregnant, and to be honest, I feel big in the tummy, but I don't feel all that HUGE, not 30 lbs. more HUGE. Then again, I haven't had but one ultrasound at 13 weeks that was done in about 2 minutes, maybe there's more than one baby in there. Or, maybe I'm just a damn whale.
My symptoms in case I can't think straight tomorrow (I've been becoming more and more delusional by the hour):
Pain in head around and above left eye.
When pain throbs it goes into left eye and head near left eye.
Shooting pains are stunning and causing dizziness.
When pains come I lose track of all thought and unintentionally hold my breath.
Pains in head and eye are so severe that I can not talk or walk during the attack.
Pains are so full of pressure it feels as though I'm being pushed into the ground by the left side of my head or through my eyeball (gross, I know).
The pains come in waves every few minutes to every hour, varying.
It's not like an average headache and is not constant.
The pain only comes to the one area (left eye) and has not spread.
Pains are not associated with noises or changes in light.
Pains do tend to be associated with changes in elevation, like standing vs. sitting, laying down vs. standing up, etc.
Pains feels like someone is beating me in the head or eye with a metal baseball bat.
The cringe on my face when they come makes me look mentally retarded, for real.
Oxygen given at Urgent Care was nice to have, but did not help pains.
Pains have been stronger and more frequent since leaving Urgent Care.
My neck feels really stiff at times.
My lower back and neck get painful spams occasionally.
