I'm doing better today, mentally. Yesterday was no joke though. Today I am a bit more relaxed. My husband stayed the night here with me for the first time since I've been here, so that was nice. He also got to talk to the DR this morning and we got a lot of our questions answered. I actually get an ultrasound tomorrow! She said it's mainly to check fluid levels and things like that. We're not doing measurements so it's not going to be real detailed. She said she would try to get me some pictures but they won't be as good as ones I probably already have at home because she'll be using the machines here, not one of theirs from their office. She is also writing an order for the Physical Therapist to come and give me massages. I was also told that when they do decide it's time to deliver I will have somewhere in the range of 8-24 hours notice before they begin the surgery. I won't be allowed to eat or drink for 8 hours before they start and for one hour after. She said it takes about 5 minutes once they start the surgery to get the baby out and about 30 minutes to close me up afterwards. She said that she's here for the next 4 days and my other DR will be back from vacation the week of Thanksgiving. She predicts I will deliver by the end of Thanksgiving weekend.
I'm going to miss this comfortable bed, but that's about it. Well, I'll miss the Ambien too.
I wonder if her predictions are right?
I just have not to think about how awful it's going to be without him while he's in the hospital. It's going to make me crazy. I just have to accept that he's going to be here without me hours during the day for a while and I'll have to take it day by day.
This situation is so much harder on someone like me who spends all day everyday with their kids. I'm not a career woman who leaves my kids in a DayCare and I am not used to being apart from my babies, especially a newborn. We will pull through though, I know he is a strong little guy and he will charm everyone around him so much that he will have all the attention he needs!
