A Christmas Baby?

When we visited Johnny today he was out of his isolette box! He was alert and responsive! We got a bunch of really nice pictures of him. So many, in fact, that we ran the camera battery down and didn't get any pictures of our Christmas Eve gathering. The nurses seemed pretty confident in telling us that we should be well rested and prepared for a phone call in the early afternoon tomorrow. The phone call should be to tell us that we can take Johnny home for Christmas! We left him there in his car seat when we left. They need to do a test called a "car seat challenge" to make sure he remains stable while sitting in the car seat in an upright position for an hour. They are also drawing his blood in the morning to do a complete blood count on him before releasing him. Pending those two things, and assuming he doesn't drop any weight in the meantime, they think he's going to be released on Christmas Day! We are so beyond thrilled!
