Spoke with Johnny's Nurse

Johnny is taking the breast milk well and they've started nipple-feeding him today. That is they are feeding him from a bottle instead of through a tube! He is doing wonderfully with it and sleeping peacefully afterwards. The nurses say these preemies get so exhausted from nipple-feeding. It's very hard for their little bodies to expend the energy it takes to eat. So the task is to gain weight while eating when their bodies are burning so many calories just to get more calories. Hopefully little Johnny will gain weight from his feedings and not get too exhausted from the work it takes to suck on the bottle.
