Friday night through Saturday morning was another trying night. Johnny didn't want to let me sleep at all as usual. He didn't want to sleep either. By 8:30 AM I was so distraught that I gave him an ounce of formula to try to "top-him-off" so I could relax a bit. We slept until 12:30 PM WOW! At which point I gave him another ounce of formula. When I took a shower I hand-expressed a lot of milk, hoping not to lose supply for the formula I substituted him with. Later in the day we visited a family member who handed-down some baby items to us while we allowed my mother to watch our youngest daughter and Little Johnny. I had breastfed Johnny before we left and we weren't gone long. He's only supposed to have an ounce of formula at a time and it should be withheld as long as possible so I can try to breastfeed instead. However, when we returned my mother had fed him almost an entire 2 ounces of formula and my little one told me she began feeding him right after we left. Ugh! So that was around 5 PM and then he didn't want to eat again until 8 PM at which point he started on his nightly non-stop eating game. So I breastfed him for 2 hours, gave him an ounce of formula, breastfed him some more, gave him his vitamins, breastfed him some more, (he's thrown up a few times now, but still demanding to eat), gave him another ounce of formula, laid him on the changing table and bundled him up and put a pacifier in his mouth and stared at him. He got quiet and I moved him to the bassinet. So far while I've been typing this he's remained quiet with the pacifier in his mouth.
I've decided two things:
1. This baby is probably going to have formula at least sometimes (at night) so we can sleep at night and function during the day. Plus the extra calories in this special preemie formula should help with his weight too.
2. He hates his bassinet for sure and he will sometimes need to be tricked into sleeping there.
After we got back from picking up baby items we attempted to watch our daughter's DVD "Cookout" but it didn't play all the way through and we gave up. We had some Pop Secret popcorn though. We also had some cupcakes and ice cream (Moose Tracks). We took Wiggles for a walk, then we put the little one to bed and watched Dead Silence. That's when the baby freaked out screaming that nothing was making him happy anymore and my husband fell asleep. Interesting that he can fall asleep like that at that point, lol.
Our little one tried a burrito from Taco Bell earlier for lunch. I thought she would like it, and she probably would have, but we forgot to tell them no sauce, and she didn't like that! Oops!
Of course now that I have finished this post and am ready to lay
me down to sleep, Johnny is starting to fuss. Typical! HELP! Waaah!
Oh and I removed my husband as a contributor to this blog. I found out he has 3-4 blogs created and he doesn't post much to here. I didn't want his other blogs associated with my account in case my ex-husband's psycho girlfriend, her mother, or family start stalking me online again. If he wants to contribute to this blog, he'll need to use a separate account not associated with anything else. He doesn't blog here much anyways, it will probably be a long time before he even notices.
