Today was a BIG day in the life of Lil J!
No, I'm not talking about Balthazar Getty in the movie Where the Day Takes You, but I will throw that up to try to get readers on my blog!
Devious, I know.
Today my Lil Johnny did not get any Baby Formula. That's right, I tried a day of cutting him off. For breakfast he had dry cereal, a few Cheerios and a few generic brand Fruit Loops and a toddler sippy-cup with cow's milk in it! Oh he LOVED that! Me too, compared to Baby Formula (yuck!). He had a few snacks throughout the day, like Gerber Graduates' "Chicken Sticks". For lunch he had 1/4 of a grilled cheese sandwich, a few Ruffles chips, and more cow's milk. For dinner he drank a gang (that is measurement of "a lot") of cows' milk out of a bottle this time and then Big S fed him some Turkey dinner baby food. He still wanted a late evening treat a few hours after dinner so Lil S fed him some Banana Raisin Granola baby food desert then she fixed him a 4 oz. bottle of Baby Formula and we put him to bed and he drank all that so she fixed him a little more and that got him to sleep! Yay Johnny! For one of his late afternoon naps we did have to give him a baby bottle with water.
My girls did so good feeding him, cleaning him, making his drinks, watching him from putting itsy bitsy pieces of whatever he finds in the carpet into his mouth, etc. Did I mention they are both really sick? That's right we're all sick, except Lil J and Grandma. The girls were both home sick from school and will probably be home from school due to being sick tomorrow too. Daddy is terribly sick. Oh woe is us!
So I am a usual Pampers buyer but the last time we got low on diapers I was at Target and Huggies Supreme's were on sale at an undeniable price so I bought them instead. Wow. It's been a long time since I've bought Huggies and I was really pleased with how well they fit his shape and how well they prevent leaks! Best of all the ones I bought from Target have Box Tops for Education which will often sway my buying decision on numerous product types. I am a collector of Pampers' Gifts to Grow points as well though!
I sold another CD on Amazon.com. Something prompted me to find out what had become of the band for the CD I had sold. I looked them up and was none too surprised to learn that the lead singer, Layne Staley, had died of a drug overdose in 2002. It sounds as if he were dead for a few weeks before his corpse was discovered too.
(WARNING! BEGIN RANT:) And that is what happens to people who live their lives the way my ex husband did. So why doesn't anything bad ever happen to that MF? (END RANT)
My children are planning to enter the Reading Rainbow young writer's and illustrator's contest this year. I'm concerned that Big S isn't quite ready though. Lil S has her complete story idea made up, drafted, and pretty much ready to go ahead with (hopefully) the final copy. We'll see. She'll probably lose interest in all the "work" it entails in the end. Plus she HATES to lose so she will be on an angry rant if she puts forth the effort and doesn't win, lol.
I love my kids, quirks and all!
