HIV Cure

Is it possible? A cure for HIV? It's looking that way.
It's also looking as though a possible vaccine is in the works too.

I've never known anyone personally with HIV. Well, how would I know? I guess it's possible I have known someone with HIV and I didn't know it or maybe they didn't know it. It was one of my biggest fears growing up. It was something no one knew much about at the time. AIDS developed very quickly in people with HIV and there weren't many medications to help with it. We were scared to death of people with AIDS because we couldn't trust how it was or wasn't contracted. Some people said you could get it from kissing and sharing drinks and other people said you couldn't. It's still an argument because some people, especially males, can carry blood in their saliva.

I would be so excited to know that my children and grandchildren could be protected from something so horrible.

We found a way to vaccinate and rid the developed world of Polio, it's time HIV seen it's cure!

I also read somewhere recently there may be some hope underway for heart disease!

And did you know that our local school district now requires all children entering the 7th grade to be vaccinated for whooping cough before they will be admitted?

I'm thrilled to see advances in health care and medicine. No one ever thinks it will be themselves affected by something until it happens. I don't have that outlook, I'm scared of everything. You just never know!
