Monday Lil J, Lil S and I went to my sister's store to get our water dispenser bottles filled. Then we went to McDonald's drive-thru for them to split a 6 pc chicken nugget kids meal (Lil J had his own drink from home). I got to the school parking lot a few minutes too early. Then I had a phone call from Lil S' best friend's (Kaylee's) mom, Veronica Brown. She needed me to pick up Kaylee and give her a ride to school. So I took take care of that and got them both to class (tardy). Veronica and her boyfriend, Mark, and Kaylee (of course) will be moving in just a few doors down from us in a few weeks! The girls are so excited!
After getting them checked into class, Lil J and went to IICSN, which is the school that Big S should be attending starting next school year. We went there to finish up the registration. She's not learning very well the "text-book" way and so we're going to give the "hands-on" approach a shot now. She can be at school from 8 am until 6 pm with help with homework and tutoring and extra elective activities, like dance and cheerleading and things like that!! All no-charge! She's really very excited. I will have to bring her to and from school every day and I think she will have to bring a school lunch too. It still sounds like a great deal and I hope it works better for her and helps her soar academically. She will no longer be a "Dragon", if accepted she will be an "Ambassador".
It has been windy this week.
After turning in the required documents for enrollment at IICSN, Johnny and I went back to Tomiyasu and went to help out in Mrs. Swain's Kindergarten class. Lil J and Lil S played at the Lego table while I checked all the kiddo's papers. Lil J tried to eat a few crayons, my name badges, his "Visitor" pass, and he also kicked off one of his shoes and almost succeeded in removing his jeans. LOL Luckily he was wearing a onesie and his diaper was not peeped at, however the kids were still very giggly about his attempts. I felt very bad as we were leaving and Kaylee stood the in the "bus line" asking "Darla, can I come with you guys?" I had to tell her "No..." because I hadn't discussed it Veronica and she had just got a new phone number that I had not programmed into my phone yet.
Tuesday Veronica called again and asked that I bring Kaylee to school and bring her over this way too so that she can put down the deposit on her new home over here next to us. So Lil S and I left Lil J with Grandma D and we picked them up. We came back by here so that they could see our new little puppy, Sissy. (See pictures a few posts prior) We visited for a bit and then I brought the girls to class and Veronica called again to tall me that they wouldn't take cash for a deposit and she needed to get a money order and asked if I would help her with that. So I took her to get a money order, she bought me lunch and I brought her home. I went to the 99¢ Store to try to find the Tempo tissue refills for my vehicle visor tissue dispenser (Which I had no luck.) and I was looking for something for the Kindergarten class as a St. Patrick's Day surprise since Mrs. Swain is telling them fun leprechaun stories. What I found got me so excited, but it was more money that I really wanted to spend. I couldn't resist though, I am a sucker for kids' smiles! I couldn't remember how many kids (from Valentine's Day) were on Lil S' class roster, but I did know that at least one girl had moved to mornings. So I guessed 25 kids and I thought I bought 25 of the items, but upon check out it came to be that I only had 24. I thought that still might be enough and I needed to get the list of kids' names from Mrs. Swain again to know for sure anyhow. Here's what I got them.. ready? ToothTunes! Yes, and they are green and white (handle) and the song is Smashmouth's Allstar, which one of the lines says "All that glitters is gold" and I thought PERFECT! The colors, the lyrics, the theme, etc. And who doesn't love a toothbrush! Those things were upwards of $10 just around Christmas! I tested a few of them to make sure they worked, batteries included! And they are all "Soft" bristles! I found a few more green things to "tie" the gifts together with the theme a little better..
Right about 3:00pm, Veronica called to ask me if I could pick up Kaylee from school and hang out with her for a bit too afterwards. A friend? She wants to be my friend? Okay!
So I told the school I needed both of the girls. The goofballs put my Lil S in the "bus line" and held Kaylee in Mrs. Swain's room. Ugh! Somehow I was still able to get them both and Big S.
I showed Mrs. Swain my grand plan and she was so excited that she begged me to let her repay me for cost. At first I refused, but as Big S arrived and and Mrs. Swain continued to dig into her purse, knowing I can "kill two birds with one stone" and we could all be happy, I said "I'll tell you what I'll do with the money if you insist on paying, I will do the exact same thing for Big S' class too". That worked, everyone was happy! I was also short at least one, maybe two kid gifts, so I was headed back to the 99¢ Store regardless!
We picked up V (Veronica) and we all went to the 99¢ Store and got enough ToothTunes for all the kids in both my girls' classes!
Exciting stuff!
Wednesday we also brought V and Lil K with Lil S and I. First we went to the Conservatory of the Arts to see about getting Lil K into some Hip Hop Dance classes. Then we took the girls to school and we gave the gift bags with the goodies for all the kiddos to the teachers. The office staff were making things more complicated than they were, but we made it through anyhow. While the kids were at school V and I went to WalMart and Bob's deli and then her apartment and I met her cute new little pug puppy named Tony. Then we picked up the girls, except for Big S (it's Wednesday, and she goes to Rachel's every Wednesday), and brought V and Lil K home. Lil S and I came home and got her ready for gym class and got there early enough for her to mix & mingle with some of the girls before gym started.
After gym, we went to Rachel's house to pic up Big S and we came home and made dinner.
I also made Banana Cream Pie for the first time ever and it was delicious! Yeah!
Gave the baby a bath and now I'm trying to unwind!
And it's only the middle of the week! :)
