Daddy's Home

Daddy is back home! It's so good to have him back. We missed him so very much! After we picked him up from the airport, Lil S, Daddy, and I went out to eat at Memphis Barbeque and we talked about our time apart.

We signed Lil S up for the Junior Pre-Team gymnastics class on Monday nights and she's still enrolled in her Wednesday night Kindergarten gym class to, for now. I think by May I will change that to Mondays only. We'll see. She will also be performing in Concert Fantasy Petite. Just a heads up, her performance is in mid August at Cashman Theatre. Ticket prices will be somewhere around $10-$20 per person. I will let everyone know when tickets are for sale. This is a major production and will benefit the Make A Wish foundation. This is going to be something she will remember forever and we'd love it if you can come and share in this experience with her. Lil S is going to be taught a choreographed routine to perform and she will be wearing a cute costume. I haven't seen the costume designs yet, but I have faith it will be adorable. She will be practicing ALL summer for this concert from May, through June, July and through the middle August. There's going to be a lot of time and dedication put into this.

Big S got in trouble after school today, while still at school. She also lied to a 4th grade teacher at the school. From what she tells us, after school a teacher approached her and her friends (that she goes home with for play-dates every Wednesday) and asked them if they were waiting for someone or walking home. The children lied and said they were walking home and the teacher told them that they need to leave the school then. Well they weren't supposed to walk home, so they stayed, but now they were afraid of the teacher so they hid behind the portables (classrooms outdoors). The teacher found them back there and told them that was dangerous and took down their names and made them leave the school grounds. They met up with my friend who picks them up sometime after walking a bit of the ways towards her house.

Big S is scared to go to school tomorrow, afraid that she will get a citation, lunch detention, and have to see the principal. I'm torn on this because my daughter lied, and she was in an unsafe place hiding behind those portables, but at the same time where does this teacher get off kicking kids off school grounds? I don't know what to do because I can't be sure my daughter is telling me the entire truth either. It seems like every time I "go to bat" for her, I find out she was lying to me about something that makes a huge difference and John or I look bad in the end.

We all stopped at the movie store and rented movies so we could have a family movie night and so Daddy could spend some time with all of us, but he fell asleep shortly after we got into watching the movie. We watched Click (Adam Sandler). John and I had seen it in the theatre together when it first came out. We still have a few more to watch, but for another night.
