I know most people are allergic to cockroach droppings and their body parts. But my allergies to them are much more severe. Living in the "desert" here makes it impossible to escape them. Every time we have a day where we see a few cockroaches, by the next day I can barely breath (it's like a gentle, but on-going asthma attack), my heart rate is really fast, and my eyes get sore, tender, swollen, I get a runny nose too.
I hate cockroaches!
Even worse, Big S says she saw one running on my pillow WHAHH! We don't have a frame for our bed, it's sitting on the floor. I asked on Freecycle for some one to donate us a bed frame and possibly a headboard and footboard for our bed but no responses yet. They give away all kinds of bed stuff we don't need all the time.
My ears are all greasy/waxy too.
Then my sweet Wiggles puppy who sleeps with me likes to rub herself all over the floor wherever a cockroach has been murdered. It's hard to get one cleaned up before she's made herself one with the cockroach remains.
I don't know what to do! I guess it's good we didn't end up moving to Hawaii like we were discussing before we came out here. I hear they have serious roach problems there. Roaches of all sizes and even really huge ones that fly too.
Stupid bugs.
As far as we've come as a society and yet we can't figure out how to extinct at least some of these pests!? It should be a priority, they are linked to asthma. It could save lives. People die from asthma complications all the time, people also die from taking medication to control their asthma.
... End of rant.
