Oh yeah... Big S got stung on the back by a bee at the pool a few days ago. It was her 1st bee sting. She doesn't appear to be allergic, which is awesome. She had a tick get her once, a while back, when we were in Kansas as well.
Lil J stands up for extended periods of time now. He also appears to be cutting his 2nd tooth through, on the bottom left next to the 1st one. So cute! But Oh My! He screams all day!
Oh yeah... Wiggles got spayed a few weeks ago. She recovered well and is the same sweet, stubborn Wiggles. Her and Buster Banks are getting along fine for the most part. Wiggles is more our dog, and Buster Banks really clings to the kids.
Our Pack & Play broke. I don't know if it's from the kids or Grandma leaning on it or what, but it pretty much just collapsed one day. We're really missing it now that Johnny can stand up. We just bought him a high chair though, so we don't have the left over to get him a Play Pen now.
Big S likes a boy named Ryan that sits next to her in her 2nd grade class. She said she thinks he likes her too because he told her that her eyes are beautiful. I didn't think boys in 2nd grade used words like "beautiful". Maybe he's gay, lol. I kid. Next Friday is Open House or something, I think. I will go then and try to meet his parents, maybe they'll even bring him so I can see what he's like. Big S always picks the most interesting boys to crush on.
Right now the girls are cleaning their room while Lil J tries to nap in there and Daddy and Grandpa Eric are jammin' on their guitars in living room, Gramma Diana is chillin' in her room on the computer and I am doing the same in my room.
Big S will be turning 8 on September 18th. I haven't planned the party yet, but I think we're just going to have it here at home this year. We got her some nice and expensive gifts so I just can't justify a big party out somewhere. I think it's just going to be family invited this year. I think the only thing we didn't get her yet that she still wants -on the more expensive side- is an ipod. There are tons of things she wants, just not that expensive. What she needs is a computer, a laptop. I would buy one of those for the kids to share before I spent $500 on an ipod. Yes, you can get a decent PC Laptop at Circuit City for that price. Especially since they keep sending me 10% off discount cards every time I spend more than $150 there.
The girls spent pretty much their entire first week of school cleaning their room. Of course by Thursday and Friday I was in there a few hours at a time trying to sort things out too. They have so much stuff! I threw out about 3 large garbage bags full of stuff. Just last month, I think, I cleaned out about 8 large garbage bags of stuff that Big S took over to the MF's girlfriend's house. And there's still enough junk in there to make their room messy. I don't get it!?
We BBQd tonight. The weather was a little on the cooler side, but windy. Dinner was good, except that I forgot to take my medications, so I will have to take them much later and then eat something again.
Politics: Things seem to be going well in Obama's favor. With all the trash talking McCain did about Obama's "inexperience" and then for him to choose a woman with such little experience to be his prospected Vice President as a tactical ploy to attract Clinton's voters, I believe McCain has boldly contradicted himself once again.
Oh yeah... Did I mention John won an Xbox 360 for his performance at work? Yup, pretty cool. He traded in our PlayStation 2 (and most of the games to it) for a bunch of Xbox games.
My CDs are selling well on Amazon, however I am not making a profit from them. I guess if I ever get in the market of selling something on Amazon.com I will have gathered some feedback though. My first feedback was a negative, they said the CD was scratched and hardly played. I disagree, they probably can't afford a CD player that is less sensitive to skip. Oh well, I have more and more positive feedbacks coming in to toss that one out eventually.
I really need to get a rid of all the clutter around here. There is so much stuff everywhere all the time that I can't dust or vacuum as often as I should because there's just too much stuff to try to work around. All this dust and dog hair building up is making me sick, literally. I can barely breathe at night any more. I am not getting good sleep. I'm anxious to get back to see the Pulmonary Specialist. I think I go back in about two weeks. I wish it were sooner though.
I feel over-crowded, I really need a more spacious home. I regularly have dreams at night of larger, more extravagant homes. Isn't it funny how the economy is so screwed up that it is when our children are all grown up and moved out that we can finally afford and qualify for the large home that we no longer need?!
Here's some irony for you...
When I was little, some of the kids that were just downright rude had this thing they did for fun, knocking on people's doors and then running away before the door was answered. The older white folk around (including my parents) referred to it as "Nigger Knocking".
Big S and Lil S have these two girlfriends that live behind us named Sonica and Monica. Sonica and Monica are of African-American descent. Big S and Lil S were telling me last night that Sonica and Monica are moving into a big house with a big pool and when they move they are going to play "Ding Dong Ditch" all the time. I had never heard of "Ding Dong Ditch", I thought, so I asked what it was. The girls told me that Ding Dong Ditch is a game you play where you ring someone's doorbell and then runaway. I told them it was a bad thing to do and that it wasn't a game at all. I didn't tell them what we grew up calling it, when someone knocked on your door and ran away. I couldn't help but laugh at the irony in that though. The girls' won't understand why I thought it was amusing. My laugh was more of an angry laugh than one when I actually think something is funny. Why did it have to be their black neighbors to teach them that? Of course I would have been upset at any of their friends to have taught them that, but... well... dang it!
I hate to end my post on that note, but I forgot all the "Oh Yeah"s that I was going to post about, ha ha.
