We Have Been Hit

It's looking as though we have finally been hit by the crisis our economy is in. My husband's employer is laying off employees and it's looking like there's a strong possibility that we won't have any medical, dental, vision, or prescription coverage by the end of this month! Which, for me, could be much much worse than just bad. "COBRA", you say? Sure, if you can spare $1300 per month while job hunting! What a freaking joke! That's more than our monthly rent! It's just under the amount of unemployment eligibility. And when you factor taxes and child support, it's a complete bust. I can imagine the lines at the state welfare departments these days. They must be horrific! It may be my only option though. If I don't have my medications and my DRs following my care I will likely die of one thing or another. I have a lot of important appointments (And so do the children) set in December. I guess on Monday I can see if I can get them bumped up before the end of this month, but most offices will only be open for 3 more days before December. I probably won't be so lucky. I may have done my entire cardiology stuff including the deadly stress test all for nothing because my appointment for my results isn't until December! Ahh! The kids all have their dentist appointment the first week of December and Big S needs 1, maybe 2 extractions.
