Dear Lord

Dear Lord,

Please pardon me if I sound different than usual. It's just that I never actually sat down and thought to blog directly to you before. I don't even know if you read blogs. Do you? If so, do you sometimes check mine? I know there are a lot out there. I bet there are some dedicated specifically to you!

Jesus, your birthday is approaching and all the little ones are wondering what Santa is going to bring them and what other gifts they'll be getting. I'm not expecting anything. It's your birthday, not mine. What would you like, Lord? Is there anything I can do?

Last year on Christmas day we got to bring our preemie son home from the hospital. It was one of the best days of our lives.

I just want you to know that everyone at New Community is thinking of you during these holidays, not so much "Santa".

I love you very much and although I am anxious to meet you at a new level and know you even more, I would greatly appreciate some good health, a little wealth, and a long life here on Earth. I want to be here for my children and their children and how ever many generations I can comfortably survive.

Jesus, I hope your birthday is celebrated in many miraculous ways this year and that more and more people are touched by your spirit.

Also, if it's not too much trouble, could you guide me on how to approach an issue I am having with some religion vs. education at my children's elementary school? The thing is, they've changed the words to "We Wish You A Merry Christmas" to "We Wish You A Happy Holidays" because "It would not be fair to the Jewish kids". However, they are teaching all the children to sing the dreidel song! How can they honor one religion and not another?

Am I wrong to be appalled by this? Do I do something? What do I do? Please, Lord, lead me, guide me!

As for my readers, do you have any input on the above issue? What would you do, or how do you feel about it? Christian, Jewish, whatever.... Is it fair?

I'm going to sleep now, pondering this...

Sadly, we seem to live in a time where we can't say or do much of anything because "it might offend someone". I'm afraid our children are going to grow up with the idea that it's some sort of "right" to not be offended. Nothing is fair, people WILL get offended, but our society likes to ignore that so they can turn around and sue the people who upset them in the least little bit. Ugh, disgusting if you ask me. Not much of a solution, sorry - just my own 2 cents.
