A & B Honor Roll

Big S may be back on the A & B Honor Roll come next report card. She had all As and Bs on her progress report she just brought home. I'm very proud of her. Her teacher sent me an email exclaiming her excitement in Big S' progress as well.

On a depressing note, Big S cracked my MacBook. She was trying to grab a floating balloon and used my MacBook to support her weight as she stretched to reach for the balloon passing by. There is a small crack in the plastic casing next to the top of my screen. The worst part was that she lied about it to me. She pretended she had nothing to do with until Daddy asked the kids about it and then she quickly fessed-up. She always does that about things. She will lie and lie and lie to me, but he asks once and ta-da, the truth comes right out. I hate that!

As part of her punishment, she was sent to clean her room but first pulled aside for a talking to. Lil S ran into the room and when Daddy walked Big S in there to start cleaning, Lil S had already cleaned it up. Lil S said "I'm sorry, Daddy, it's just that it was only messy because I was camping on my floor last night and I forgot to clean it all up." Very sweet.

On Thursday, Big S was invited to a birthday party scheduled for this Sunday. The mother, Risha, of the birthday boy, Shivaal, called Saturday evening to tell us that she was sorry but that they have a family emergency and the birthday party is cancelled! Which is very sad because right before the call Big S was telling me how excited she was about going to the party, it was supposed to be at Bounce U. Friday after school we went shopping for his birthday gifts and got him a huge gift bag and filled it up with presents. He's turning 8 and we picked out some neat gifts (kite, whoopie cushion, airplane kit, stickers, soaker ball w/sling shot, light saber, candy, figurine with personal message, toy gun, etc). I think there were a few more gifts, but we've already wrapped & bagged them up. I'm not sure how we'll go about getting them to him now. Such a shame to have to cancel like that.

I wish I had some news on Lil J, but there's not much new to report. He's got some back teeth coming in and he's been in a lot of pain. He'll still give out some beautiful smiles though. He's into everything, so at 15 months now I am buying outlet covers and cabinet locks, lol. He already popped off one outlet cover. See how determined he is?! It had only been on there for about 1 minute. Ugh. I was at my sister's store the other day and this woman came in with a double buggy type of a stroller. She had two big baby boys in there and when I asked how old they were she said 8 months. EIGHT MONTHS! And they looked, to me, like they should have been 2 1/2 year olds! My son is almost twice as old as they are and he is NOWHERE near their size! He's probably less than half of their size. I was telling her that and followed it with "But he was a preemie, so that's probably why." To which she replied "They were preemie too, about two months preemie." I didn't know what else to say, my guy was about two month preemie too. However he ranked very close to a micropreemie in terms of weight whereas her boys were both over 4 lbs. at birth; Johnny was less than 3 1/2 lbs.

Oh here's some stuff I've forgotten to mention in my last few posts. We've been "socializing" Wiggles and taking her to the dog park at Sunset Park randomly. I didn't even know they had an off-leash dog-park within Sunset Park until a few weeks ago! She's getting much better at being around other dogs. It's lots of fun too.
