Dragon of the Month February 2009

Lil S was awarded Dragon of the Month at school for the month of February 2009. She also got another perfect attendance recognition. This award was her first award from school, so it was a big deal, right?! We like to make a big deal of the first award.

Before going to the Dragon of the Month school assembly, I went to the store and got her a pretty pot of flowers, a "Congrats" mylar balloon and a hot pink color, extra soft puppy! See picture:

She was excited to see the flowers, balloon, and puppy all for her. Her classmates were excited about them too!

Then her teacher, Mrs. Swain, called her to the stage to accept her award certificate. Such a proud moment.

After the assembly, Mrs. Swain asked me to come back to her classroom to take pictures of her with Lil S because she would like to have one. Of course I followed them back to class and joined them.

Yes, that's Mrs. Swain's piano and she plays very well and teaches the kids lots of songs to sing while she plays.

After I got pictures of Lil S with her teacher I tried to get a few more pictures of her in her classroom.

When I started taking shots of her, everyone else wanted in!

This little boy asked me to take a picture of the two of them together. I think they consider each other boyfriend & girlfriend.

Then he asked if he could take a picture of me.
He was so sweet, I couldn't say no!

Then he asked if he could take a picture of his girl!

He did a good job, huh!?

I took this picture, and I think it is neat.

After school we went to Albertson's and her classmate named Shane was there with his mommy and he saw Lil S and said "Hi Shane!" Then he shook his head, realizing how strange that sounded, and he couldn't think what to say next, so she said to him "Hi Shane." It was cute.

Oh yeah, and there was little boy in her class named William who kept telling her he wanted to be her friend, he would say "I want to be your friend, not just a friend but your best friend. I'm a really great guy. I would be a good friend to you. I love all species!" He was really going for her. Mrs. Swain says he is like that everyday with her. Ha.

Then she also had gymnastics in the evening while Big S had gone home with, and stayed late with one of her own friends. Lil S' gym coach, Tara, was asking me if I would be interested in allowing her to come more often and if I would be open to a new schedule. She wants to talk to Fern about adding a class called "Hot Shots" or something for the more advanced very little kids. If she gets the class approved she wants Lil S to be able to be on the team. I'm all for it, time and schedule wise. We'll see what comes of it, if anything.

It was good to post again... It's been a while, I know.
