I wish I had the resources to start a company that does school yearbooks and photographs. Like Lifetouch and Bartolo.
I was just looking through my daughter's school yearbook. This is the first year that we purchased one for her because the other schools that she has attended she hadn't been there for the entire school year. Anyways this yearbook is bound merely by staples and the graphics and such are pretty lame & simple. The collages of photos are boring, etc. I just looked at it and had so many ideas, scrap-book style, and I just thought of all the cool things I could do if it were my company and I had the resources that they have. Not to mention that my daughter had food on her face in the photograph. You would think a professional photographer would have done something about that. They should have said something to her before taking the picture, or touched it up before printing it. At least the yearbook picture is so small that you can't tell. That's another "beef" I had about the book, the pictures were much smaller than they had to be and the make-up photos were different shapes/sizes than the rest of the class. Class photos were taken during different times of the year than the yearbook photos and they didn't tag the class portraits with the student's names. I'm not saying it's a horrible book, it's still cute and worth the $19 or whatever I paid for it. It wasn't terribly expensive or anything, I just feel like I could do better and I wish I could. I would have fun making a living at using my creativity with photos.
