I saw my Cardiologist today and the got the results of my tests.
Regarding the Nerve Conduction Study, I do have some nerve damage which is also more than likely one of the larger sources of my "all over" pain.
Impression:
"The study is consistent with the diagnosis of mild peripheral polyneuropathy motor and sensory, with demyelination and axonal pathology. This is consistent with the history of diabetes mellitus."
Recommendations were nerve stabilizing medication and medication for neuropathic pain.
Regarding the Echocardiography, the DR wants me to have a procedure done in the hospital where they check my heart by going in through my leg with something and if they find a problem they can fix it then and there and I could be released the next day and if there isn't a problem found then they can be 100% sure that I need not worry about the palpitations and such and I could be released 3-4 hours after the procedure.
Interpretation:
Echocardiogram showed left-sided chamber enlargement.
Left ventricular function is borderline with an ejection fraction of 53%.
Valvular structures have a normal morphological appearance.
Doppler analysis is unremarkable.
Conclusion:
Left-sided chamber enlargement with borderline left ventricular function.
The stress test results are a little confusing for me, so I'm not going to go into that. The only part I do understand is where it says that during the test, although I did not have chest pain (not that I didn't experience what I would define as "Hell"), there was a significant dysrhythmia.
Other than that the DR actually seemed hardly concerned. He said he's 90% okay with the results that my heart is about normal. He wants to do that procedure though to find out if he can make it 100% sure all is well.
As for my nerves. Yup, problems, I will be continuing to seek pain management. I can't believe the lousy DRs in this town that won't give me pain drugs that will actually help me function and recover! Ugh!
I'm going back on the Neurontin medication.
